The Academic Intervention Center

The Academic Skills Center provides remedial assistance for all students in all subjects. Two teachers are available to assist students during each class period and before or after school. Help is available for students having difficulty in any subjects or for test preparation. Students are assigned to the Academic Skills Center by teacher referral, Guidance office referral or by themselves if they feel they need extra help in a subject. The Academic Skills Center also provides preparation for SAT's and the English III Regents examination. Teachers in the Academic Skills Center also work closely with identified special education students to make certain that IEP requirements, such as alternative testing site and extended time, are provided.
